- In 1939, Penny Henderson (Mary Stuart Masterson) este secretar general si, informal, manager general al unei noi retele radio, WBN. Intr-o noapte obisnuita in care emisia radio in Chicago era normala, se aude la un moment dat o voce stranie iar in Chicago au loc, imediat dupa asta, o serie intreaga de crime fiecare strans legata de acesta voce stranie. In timp ce Penny si intregul staff WBN incearca sa alunge zvonurile legate de implicarea retelei in monstruoasele crime, sotul sau Roger (Brian Benben), o fire putin cam ciudata, devine principalul suspect!
