- Pitkin (Norman) are o macelarie impreuna cu Mr. Grimsdale. Mr. Grimsdale ajunge la spital, iar aici Norman constata ca ii place rolul de brancardier si nu numai, bagandu-si nasul peste tot. Spitalul are o aripa cu copii internati, aici Pitkin cunoaste o fetita care in urma socului pe care l-a avut cand si-a pierdut parintii nu mai comunica cu nimeni, traind ca o leguma. Pitkin se dovedeste a fi singurul care reuseste sa o scoata din aceasta stare, dupa ce toate incercarile medicilor esuasera.
