Un dentist incompetent pleacă să-și caute norocul în Vestul Sălbatic. Aici, se îndrăgostește de celebra Calamity Jane, pe care o ia de nevastă, fără să cunoască nici trecutul “glorios” al acesteia, nici faptul că era angajată într-o operațiune guvernamentală sub acoperire, de îndeplinirea căreia atârna grațierea ei.
