Three young architects, Su Fujimoto, Kumiko Inui and Akihisa Hirata, are building one of these houses in Rikuzentakata. Using trees from the destroyed forest, they create an image of a house with a pointed roof, pierced by 19 trunks. Winding around the interior spaces, a promenade alternates between staircases and terraces, facing the landscape: the grid of streets, the only trace of the vanished city.
