In this episode, we will focus on the gardens of Giverny. Marcel Proust was so fond of the gardens of Giverny, created by Claude Monet, not far from Paris. However, the author of the novel "Du côté de chez Swann", never saw the gardens. This shows the imagination that these gardens unfold, even though they were skilfully designed for more than 40 years by the master of the place, Claude Monet.

Pieter Bruegel the Elder, (1525-1569) is one of the most renowned Flemish painters of the Renaissance. Although influenced by Italian art, his paintings maintained a typically Flemish tradition. A “peasant” painter, he depicted the lives of his country’s common folk as in the “Peasant Wedding”. In “Netherlandish Proverbs”, he wittily transcribes dozens of popular sayings. MisterPee was born in 1975 in Paris. Immersed from a very young age in the world of images, notably thanks to his photographer father, he took his first artistic steps on the walls of the wastelands of his neighborhood.

A native of the southern French town of Grasse, Jean-Honoré Fragonard is one of the most important 18th century French painters. He studied at the French Academy in Rome but chose to be free in his work, preferring to carry out private commissions, some of which were licentious, such as “The Shirt Withdrawn” exposed at the Louvre. The “Fanciful Figure” exposed at the Louvre-Lens demonstrates an original and very modern style. A lover of Tibet and high mountains, painter Qiu Xiaoqiu has made more than twenty journeys across the Tibetan highlands. He brought back striking portraits of nomads wandering through the mineral vastness of the Himalayas. Born in Damascus, Syria, Ammar Abd Rabbo lived in Libya and Lebanon before moving to France at the age of 12. He has been working as a press photographer since 1990, and has signed more than sixty covers for well-known magazines. Ammar Abd Rabbo is not a war photographer, but has covered several conflicts, such as Iraq (2003), Lebanon (2006), Libya (2011), as well as several trips to Syria, in 2013 and 2014, to show the daily life and resistance of the inhabitants, rather than the military life.

Move along, there's nothing to see! In April 2018, the Museum "La Piscine de Roubaix" prepared to expand its exhibition space. In a period of six months, several thousand works had to be unhooked, dusted, restored, moved, and reinstalled. These are unique works for which any handling required extreme precautions. Bruno Gaudichon, curator and founder of the museum, had to employ and bring together several workers in ordert to complete a successful reopening.

It is in the city in constant movement of Buenos Aires, that the artist of Slovak origin, Gyula Kosice, has flourished. He is one of the fathers of kinetic art, which proposes works containing moving parts, propelled by the wind, an engine, or the spectator. It is in the quiet neighborhood of Almagro, that the artist has installed his studio.

Caspar David Friedrich (1774-1840) is a German Romantic painter who concentrated mainly on landscape art, which he rendered in minute detail. He was rediscovered at the end of the 19th century. A melancholy character, he peopled his canvases with human figures seen from behind, contemplating the enormity of nature, for example in his famous “The Wanderer above the Mists” in Hamburg or the “Chalk Cliffs on Rügen”. Simultaneously painter and diplomat, Peter Paul Rubens, (1577-1640) was an essential personality in Europe’s 17th century artistic scene. He painted vast compositions for princely families of the time like the Marie de Medici cycle now housed in the Louvre Museum. He also personified the baroque vein in Northern Europe, developing a style of perpetual movement with luminous coloured strokes as in the “Rape of the Daughters of Leucippus” exhibited in Munich. In 2019, the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci was celebrated. To mark the occasion, the Louvre organised a major exhibition on the work of the most famous Renaissance painter. Echoing this event and based on the latest historiographical research, this documentary offers a new deciphering of the Tuscan master's paintings, revealing through them what painting represented for Leonardo: a philosophy, a total art in the service of understanding the world.

Born in Lyon to a German family who fled to France in 1939, André Perlstein was separated from his parents at an early age due to the circumstances of the war and was hidden, along with his sister, by a Protestant family before being raised by a foster family. He became interested in photography in the early 1960s, and took up aerial photography after joining the air force. A meeting with Jean-Marie Cavada, gives him the opportunity to make many photos of stars. From 1967, he works for the Gamma Agency which has just been created by Gilles Caron and Raymond Depardon. In 1973, he was among the photographers who left Gamma to found the Sygma agency.

In this episode, we will focus on the gardens of Giverny. Marcel Proust was so fond of the gardens of Giverny, created by Claude Monet, not far from Paris. However, the author of the novel "Du côté de chez Swann", never saw the gardens. This shows the imagination that these gardens unfold, even though they were skilfully designed for more than 40 years by the master of the place, Claude Monet.

Pieter Bruegel the Elder, (1525-1569) is one of the most renowned Flemish painters of the Renaissance. Although influenced by Italian art, his paintings maintained a typically Flemish tradition. A “peasant” painter, he depicted the lives of his country’s common folk as in the “Peasant Wedding”. In “Netherlandish Proverbs”, he wittily transcribes dozens of popular sayings. MisterPee was born in 1975 in Paris. Immersed from a very young age in the world of images, notably thanks to his photographer father, he took his first artistic steps on the walls of the wastelands of his neighborhood.

A native of the southern French town of Grasse, Jean-Honoré Fragonard is one of the most important 18th century French painters. He studied at the French Academy in Rome but chose to be free in his work, preferring to carry out private commissions, some of which were licentious, such as “The Shirt Withdrawn” exposed at the Louvre. The “Fanciful Figure” exposed at the Louvre-Lens demonstrates an original and very modern style. Born in Damascus, Syria, Ammar Abd Rabbo lived in Libya and Lebanon before moving to France at the age of 12. He has been working as a press photographer since 1990, and has signed more than sixty covers for well-known magazines. Ammar Abd Rabbo is not a war photographer, but has covered several conflicts, such as Iraq (2003), Lebanon (2006), Libya (2011), as well as several trips to Syria, in 2013 and 2014, to show the daily life and resistance of the inhabitants, rather than the military life.

Move along, there's nothing to see! In April 2018, the Museum "La Piscine de Roubaix" prepared to expand its exhibition space. In a period of six months, several thousand works had to be unhooked, dusted, restored, moved, and reinstalled. These are unique works for which any handling required extreme precautions. Bruno Gaudichon, curator and founder of the museum, had to employ and bring together several workers in ordert to complete a successful reopening.
