Sting was born Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner in Wallsend, a ship building town near Newcastle After a family friend left him a Spanish guitar Sting became obsessed with music. He spent his youth visiting jazz clubs in nearby Newcastle, where he saw the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Cream. In 1977 Sting moved to London to pursue music with his band Last Exit. At one of the city’s jazz clubs he met drummer Stewart Copeland. Although starting out as a punk band, The Police showed a wide range of influences. By their fifth album, The Police were the biggest band in the world and although Synchronicity has sold 8 million copies the US alone the trio decided to go on hiatus. In 1985 Sting released his debut solo album, The Dream of the Blue Turtles. Featuring archive material, music videos “Shape Of My Heart” “Fields Of Gold” and, exclusive insights from music critics and journalists Michael Bonner (Uncut Magazine), Hamish MacBain (Shortlist), John Aizlewood (Evening Standard).

Around The World follows The Police on their first world tour in 1979 and 1980, as they visit 6 continents building their fanbase show-by-show, country-by-country, song-by-song. In between the performances, the film offers a jovial glimpse of the band as they travel around the world and their visits to local sights. Around The World is presented with restored picture and remastered audio, and includes complete performances of 4 songs featured in the documentary.

An artist with intellectual skills is John Legend, who studied English with a major in African American literature at the University of Pennsylvania. In college, he participated in a jazz group called Counterparts and at the time was introduced to singer Lauryn Hill, playing piano on the track 'Everything Is Everything' from the singer's first solo album. He finished college in 1999 and began composing his own songs; Recorded two independent albums that were sold in their performances: 'John Stephens' (2000) and 'Live at Jimmy Uptown' (2001). He has performed on albums of singers like Alicia Key, Jay-Z and also made the album Wake Up! (2010) along with the American rap group, The Roots. His official discography includes Get Lifted (2004), Once Again (2006), Evolver (2008) and Love in the Future (2013). This presentation in London, 2014, at the Itunes Festival, manages to clean the career of this singer who besides being multitalented can be a human rights activist.

Buddy Holly was a central figure of late 1950s, with hits, That’ll be the Day, Everyday & Peggy Sue. Holly made his second appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in January 1958 and soon after, toured Australia and the UK. In early 1959, he assembled a new band and embarked on a tour of the midwestern U.S. After a show in Clear Lake, Iowa, he chartered an airplane to travel to his next show, in Moorhead, Minnesota. Soon after take-off, the plane crashed, killing him, Ritchie Valens & The Big Bopper, in a tragedy later referred to by Don McLean as The Day the Music Died".

Jim Morrison co-founded the Doors in 1965 and recorded a total of six studio albums. Morrison developed an alcohol dependence which at times affected his performances on stage. He died aged at the 27 Club in Paris. As no autopsy was performed, the exact cause of Morrison's death remains unknown to this day.
