This concert from the Scorpions home city of Hanover was the climax of EXPO2000. The legendary German rock band, with worldwide album sales in excess of 75 million, perform live on stage with the perhaps even more legendary Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Christian Kolonovits. The concert was a recreation of their "Moment Of Glory" album, also recorded with the BPO, which took their classic tracks and gave them a full orchestral backing.

July 12, 2004 was a very special night at the Montreux Festival for any blues fan. With Carlos Santana as musical director (and special guest guitarist), three musical legends took to the stage. Amy Winehouse was an English singer and songwriter whose stunning voice easily following in the footsteps of Janis Joplin and Billie Holiday. Her debut album, Frank (was a critical success in the UK and was nominated for the Mercury Prize. Her follow-up album, Back to Black (2006), led to five 50th Annual Grammy Awards, and a record of most Grammys won by a female artist in one night. In short, a music legend who died at the young age of 27, from alcohol intoxication on 23 July 2011. Her album Back to Black posthumously became one the UK's best-selling albums of the 21st century.

Janis Joplin was one of the most successful and widely-known female rock stars of her era. After releasing three albums, she died of a heroin overdose at the age of 27. Her fourth album, Pearl, was released in January 1971, just over three months after her death. It reached number one on the Billboard charts. Her Legacy. The big-voiced, bluesy singer dominated the stage, forged her own path and paved the way for the female singers who followed.

Jethro Tull is one of the most successful British acts of all time with a career reaching from the late sixties to the present day. In 2003 they made their first (and so far only) visit to the Montreux Festival. Split into a semi-acoustic first half and a full on electric second half, the concert was a triumph combining newer songs such as “Dot Com”, “Pavane” and “Budapest” with classic favorites. As ever Ian Anderson leads from the front with his instantly recognizable voice and inimitable style of one-legged flute playing. Keith Moon was an English drummer for the Rock music band The Who. Noted for his unique style, alcohol addiction and his eccentric, often self-destructive behaviour Moon developed a reputation for smashing his kit on stage and destroying hotel rooms on tour. His drumming continues to be praised by critics and musicians to this day. Moon was voted the second-greatest drummer in history by Rolling Stone. By 1976, and particularly during production of The Kids Are Alright (film) and Who Are You (song), Moon’s deterioration grew. Moving back to London in 1978, he died on 7th of September aged 32, from an overdose of Clomethiazole, a drug intended to treat or prevent symptoms of alcohol withdrawal.

"Hank" Williams is regarded as one of the most significant and influential American singers and songwriters of the 20th century. Williams recorded 35 singles (five released posthumously) that reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Country & Western Best Sellers chart, including 11 that ranked number one (three posthumously). After an initial rejection, Williams joined the Grand Ole Opry. writing hits "Your Cheatin’ Heart", Hey, Good Lookin’", and So Lonesome I Could Cry". In 1952, he was dismissed by the Grand Ole Opry because of his unreliability and alcohol abuse. On January 1, 1953, he suffered heart failure while traveling to perform at a concert in West Virginia and died as a result. Despite his short life, Williams is one of the most celebrated and influential musicians of the 20th & has been cited as a key musical influence on Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones.

Oral Fixation Tour was the fourth concert tour by Colombian singer and songwriter, Shakira. It was launched in support of her sixth and seventh studio albums Fijación Oral, Vol. 1 (2005). and Oral Fixation, Vol. 2 (2005).

While the nails were starting to be driven into the hippie generation's coffin, an L.A. band would cast an influence and signal a new movement of musical artistry that would prove to be a hard act to follow. In the late-60's, the Doors would help lead a new musical revolution that would throw a middle finger in the face of society and distance itself from all the turmoil that shaped the political climate by literally creating mass hysteria on their own.
