Elvis Presley was regarded as an icon of the 20th century, and often referred to as simply "the King of Rock". Prescription drug abuse severely compromised his health, and he died suddenly in 1977 at his Graceland estate, just 42 years of age. This concert from the Scorpions home city of Hanover was the climax of EXPO2000. The legendary German rock band, with worldwide album sales in excess of 75 million, perform live on stage with the perhaps even more legendary Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Christian Kolonovits. The story of Fleetwood Mac is one of two halves. The first half began within the British blues scene of the late 1960s, where the band’s founder, Peter Green, honed his talent. Peter Green asked fellow Bluesbreakers John McVie and Mick Fleetwood to form a new band after they successfully collaborated in the studio on an instrumental with Jeremy Spencer and Bob Brunning completing the line-up. They took on the new name of Fleetwood Mac. The band had success in the UK with their first two albums and in 1968, with the addition of guitarist, Danny Kirwan, they finally achieved their first number one single, Albatross. However, Fleetwood Mac’s third album, They Play On, would be Peter Green’s last with the band, Without Peter Green, Danny Kirwan would take on the lead role within the group In 1970, Christine McVie, the wife of John McVie was yet another addition, after having provided backing vocals and album artwork for the new line-up. Yet more changes came to the band’s line-up with Kirwan sadly having to leave due to problems with alcoholism, Songwriter Bob Welch replaced him, but then departed shortly after. Fleetwood Mac with the line-up of Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and John and Christine McVie entered its second chapter. In 1975 they released what would ironically be their second self-titled album, which would top the US Billboard chart and featured the hit single Rhiannon, written by Stevie Nicks But as the album reached number one in the US and began shifting units of over five million, the band’s personal lives were becoming strained. In 1977 the band released Rumours. The lyrics of the songs written by each member of the band exposed the personal turmoil that existed within the group Rumours has, to date, sold over 45 million copies worldwide, making it one of the biggest selling albums of all time. Influenced by new wave and punk, Buckingham convinced the band to go for a more experimental approach for the highly-anticipated follow-up album, Tusk. Jerry Lee Lewis is one of the founding fathers of Rock n Roll. He was one of the original Sun Records quartet along with Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash who between them defined the music of a generation. His recording career has stretched from the mid-50s to the present day and his unique style of piano playing has influenced scores of musicians over the years. This concert, recorded at London's Hammersmith Apollo in 1989, features the killer in performances of his classic tracks such as Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On, What Id Say, High School Confidential and Great Balls Of Fire all delivered in his own inimitable fashion. Joining him on stage are a great list of guests including Van Morrison, Dave Edmunds, John Lodge, Brian May, Stuart Adamson and Dave Davies.

This installment of the Classic Albums series, in which rock stars talk about the creation of their albums, focuses on the making of British Steel, the 1980 album by Judas Priest, a working class British, heavy metal band led by screechy lead singer Rob Halford. As Halford (who has since left the band) and his mates explain what went into the lyrics and recording of the songs that made up the record, the talking heads are intercut with performance footage of a band that helped launch the metal and speed-metal surge of the 1980s and early 1990s.

Michael Hutchence founding member, lead singer and lyricist of rock band INXS from 1977 until his death on November 22nd 1997. Hutchence was the archetypal rock showman. He exuded an overtly sexual, macho cool with his flowing locks, and lithe and exuberant stage movements. His private life was often reported in the Australian and international press, with a string of love affairs with prominent actresses, models and singers. Hutchence's relationship with UK television presenter Paula Yates began while she was married to musician and Live Aid organiser Bob Geldof. During July of the same year, Hutchence and Yates had a daughter. On the morning of 22 November 1997, Hutchence was found dead in his hotel room in Sydney. His death was reported by the New South Wales Coroner to be the result of suicide.
