Keith Moon was an English drummer for the Rock music band The Who. Noted for his unique style, alcohol addiction and his eccentric, often self-destructive behaviour Moon developed a reputation for smashing his kit on stage and destroying hotel rooms on tour. His drumming continues to be praised by critics and musicians to this day. Moon was voted the second-greatest drummer in history by Rolling Stone. By 1976, and particularly during production of The Kids Are Alright (film) and Who Are You (song), Moon’s deterioration grew. Moving back to London in 1978, he died on 7th of September aged 32, from an overdose of Clomethiazole, a drug intended to treat or prevent symptoms of alcohol withdrawal.

In a career spanning over 25 years, Simply Red blended soul, reggae and jazz to the success of fifty million album sales. The man fronting the group was Mick Hucknall. Rock Am Ring (Nürburgring), Rock Im Park (Nuremberg) is a music festival that takes place annually at the Nürburgring Race Track in western Germany. Featuring Billy Talent.

Lady Gaga's performance at the iTunes Festival in London on September 1, 2013 marks the superstar's first full concert since the The Born This Way Ball. It is an eight song set containing the world premiere of seven tracks from her fourth album, ARTPOP: "Aura"; "MANiCURE"; "Artpop"; "Jewels N' Drugs" ft. T.I., Too $hort and Twista; "Sexxx Dreams", "Swine"; and "I Wanna Be With You", a song that transformed into "Dope" for ARTPOP. During the concert, captured stunningly in HD, Gaga says that she's "a bit like Dorothy right now." The stage is her Kansas, the crowd is her family, and their reunion is pure magic. Lady Gaga, her dancers, and her band traverse through visual and musical themes of love, sex, violence, beauty, danger, empowerment, hustle, lust, and above all ART. Throughout, Gaga lays her heart bare for the audience and the cameras with every note sung and every word spoken.

Pulp came together as a band in 1980 Sheffield. Early rehearsals took place in singer Jarvis Cocker’s sitting room. Pulp didn’t really hit public consciousness for a long, long time. The first three albums, It, Freaks and Separations and the single My Legendary Girlfriend was a bit of a music press fave. A lot of people raving about that in the NME. After being frustrated at the distribution and reception of their first three albums, Pulp signed to the independent label, Gift. But they were soon taken on by island Records. The interest from the labels came from the new songs they were performing live, notably one which would become their breakthrough track, Babies. The single, Do You Remember The First Time, funnily enough became their first top 40 hit. Building on its success, the band released the album His ‘n’ Hers which entered the UK top 10. Following on from the critical success of His ‘n’ Hers… Pulp would finally explode on to the mainstream with their huge success of their 1995 single, Common People. The song was the lead single from the album Different Class which topped the UK charts and this time would win Pulp the Mercury Music Prize.

George Thorogood is an American icon. In a career that stretches back to the mid-seventies, he and his band The Destroyers have released 16 studio albums with worldwide sales in excess of 15 million. 2013 saw George & The Destroyers make their long overdue debut at the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival. Performing at an event that had previously played host to many of their musical heroes inspired the band to produce one of their finest performances on a set list that stretched back to their eponymous debut album from 1977 and right up to their most recent releases. This is goodtime rocking blues and nobody does it better than George Thorogood & The Destroyers.

The story of Fleetwood Mac is one of two halves. The first half began within the British blues scene of the late 1960s, where the band’s founder, Peter Green, honed his talent. Peter Green asked fellow Bluesbreakers John McVie and Mick Fleetwood to form a new band after they successfully collaborated in the studio on an instrumental with Jeremy Spencer and Bob Brunning completing the line-up. They took on the new name of Fleetwood Mac. The band had success in the UK with their first two albums and in 1968, with the addition of guitarist, Danny Kirwan, they finally achieved their first number one single, Albatross. However, Fleetwood Mac’s third album, They Play On, would be Peter Green’s last with the band, Without Peter Green, Danny Kirwan would take on the lead role within the group In 1970, Christine McVie, the wife of John McVie was yet another addition, after having provided backing vocals and album artwork for the new line-up. Yet more changes came to the band’s line-up with Kirwan sadly having to leave due to problems with alcoholism, Songwriter Bob Welch replaced him, but then departed shortly after. Fleetwood Mac with the line-up of Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and John and Christine McVie entered its second chapter. In 1975 they released what would ironically be their second self-titled album, which would top the US Billboard chart and featured the hit single Rhiannon, written by Stevie Nicks But as the album reached number one in the US and began shifting units of over five million, the band’s personal lives were becoming strained. In 1977 the band released Rumours. The lyrics of the songs written by each member of the band exposed the personal turmoil that existed within the group Rumours has, to date, sold over 45 million copies worldwide, making it one of the biggest selling albums of all time. Influenced by new wave and punk, Buckingham convinced the band to go for a more experimental approach for the highly-anticipated follow-up album, Tusk. This installment of the Classic Albums series, in which rock stars talk about the creation of their albums, focuses on the making of British Steel, the 1980 album by Judas Priest, a working class British, heavy metal band led by screechy lead singer Rob Halford. As Halford (who has since left the band) and his mates explain what went into the lyrics and recording of the songs that made up the record, the talking heads are intercut with performance footage of a band that helped launch the metal and speed-metal surge of the 1980s and early 1990s.
