In a career that stretches back to the mid-seventies, he and his band The Destroyers have released 16 studio albums with worldwide sales in excess of 15 million. 2013 saw George & The Destroyers make their long overdue debut at the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival. Performing at an event that had previously played host to many of their musical heroes inspired the band to produce one of their finest performances on a set list that stretched back to their eponymous debut album from 1977 and right up to their most recent releases. During the first leg of Paul Simon's triumphant, 2011 U.S. tour, he thrilled hometown fans with a special club performance at New York City's historic Webster Hall. The show presents this iconic artist working at the peak of his artistic and creative powers in an unusually intimate setting. The 20-song, 90-minute set list was drawn from his legendary career and includes several songs that haven't been performed live in many years. John Mellencamp’s career in music, spanning more than 42 years, has seen him transition from pop star to one of the most highly regarded songwriters of a generation. Filmed at the landmark Chicago Theatre, just 250 miles away from his upbringing in Indiana, this cinematic concert documentary film captures John Mellencamp reflecting on his career accompanied by self-narration from his highly personal audio diary on his Midwestern upbringing, career and outlook on life as a whole. This concert from the Scorpions home city of Hanover was the climax of EXPO2000. The legendary German rock band, with worldwide album sales in excess of 75 million, perform live on stage with the perhaps even more legendary Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Christian Kolonovits. An artist with intellectual skills is John Legend, who studied English with a major in African American literature at the University of Pennsylvania. In college, he participated in a jazz group called Counterparts and at the time was introduced to singer Lauryn Hill, playing piano on the track 'Everything Is Everything' from the singer's first solo album. He finished college in 1999 and began composing his own songs; Recorded two independent albums that were sold in their performances: 'John Stephens' (2000) and 'Live at Jimmy Uptown' (2001). He has performed on albums of singers like Alicia Key, Jay-Z and also made the album Wake Up! (2010) along with the American rap group, The Roots. His official discography includes Get Lifted (2004), Once Again (2006), Evolver (2008) and Love in the Future (2013). This presentation in London, 2014, at the Itunes Festival, manages to clean the career of this singer who besides being multitalented can be a human rights activist.
