Six of Africa’s 11 Vulture species – the continent’s largest and most recognizable birds of prey – are now at a higher risk of extinction, according to the latest assessment of birds carried out by BirdLife International for the IUCN Red List of Threatened SpeciesTM. The main causes of the drop in African Vulture populations are thought to be indiscriminate poisonings, where the birds are drawn to poisoned baits, use of Vulture body parts in traditional medicine, and deliberate targeting by poachers, as the presence of Vultures can alert authorities to illegally killed big game carcasses. Robbing the African skies of one of their most iconic and spectacular groups of birds, the rapid decline of the continent’s Vultures has profound consequences for its people – as Vultures help stop the spread of diseases by cleaning up rotting carcasses.

In the fifth and final episode of the set we visit one of the world’s most modern car factories. February 2017 saw me embark upon a travel expedition through Scotland, Poland, France, Mexico, Belize and, (alas! ), back. Not only was it the first time I ventured out to Central America, but also the first time I seriously pushed my bravery boundaries to do a whole lot of things I'd never tried before. I defeated my life-long fear of scubadiving and skydiving, (the Carribbean vistas do help! - No danger I'd do that again in Aberdeen), I went zip-lining over a Mexican jungle, I tried habanero-packed streetfood, (failed at that miserably), and organic tequila, (managed that better;), I climbed a Maya pyramid in the middle of a Belizean rainforest and fed hibiscus flowers to a very extravagant donkey. Most importantly, however, I got to know some incredible people - from shamans, wanderers and artists to refugees, businesswomen and expat cowboys. And thanks to aaaall of that, I also got to know a little bit more about myself for visiting the most remote corners of our planet reminds you how different and yet how similar we all are. I'm looking forward to sharing my incredible experience in 5 exciting episodes of our travel series, which really turned out to be a Dream Journey:) I simply cannot wait for more!

Fletch and Stig explore the diversity of this extraordinary North African country by journeying from Sea to Sand, beginning in the port of Essaouria, dominated by it’s fishing industry and fortress battlements and made famous by the television series Game of Thrones and ending in the magnificent Sahara Desert to meet Bedouin nomads and explore its vast emptiness and lush oases. Get up close and personal with a group of International recruits as they tackle one of the toughest training courses on the planet, in order to become the next generation of Anti-Poaching Rangers, and help save endangered species from extinction. This returnable series, shot on 4k UHD over 5 weeks in three remote South Africa locations, gains exclusive access and gets close to the action and under the skin of these young people who are prepared to risk their own existence, to save the world’s wildlife for future generations. Some recruits will succeed and some will have their dreams shattered and not make it to phase two.

The Recruits meet for the first time as Cape Town International Airport, they have flown in from all over the world. They are taken by mini bus to the vast Rangers Reserve high in the Western Cape Mountains. At the reserve they will have no contact with outside world, and undergo the first part of a torturous training regime to turn them into qualified Anti Poaching Rangers. Some will succeed and some will have their dreams shattered and not make it to phase two.
